2/11 – Weekly Orlando Concert Roundup

0

Holiday weekend in Orlando means more tourists and more concerts with Universal expanding their Mardi Gras concert lineup to two nights for the holiday, and SeaWorld kicks off their Bands, Brews, & BBQ concerts. Two new shows announced – for the same day – Beyonce & Flogging Molly (sadly, not together – which would’ve made for a really interesting show!).

This Week’s Shows
  • Saturday 2/13 – Alan Parsons Live Project (The Plaza Live) Prog rock band… we would tell you more but the show is sold out!
  • Saturday 2/13 – Diana Ross (Universal Orlando) Founding member and lead singer of the Motown group The Supremes. She’ll take the stage at 8:30pm.
  • Saturday 2/13 – Yanni (Dr. Phillips Center – Walt Disney Theater) Greek composer best known for blending world jazz and soft rock together.
  • Saturday 2/13 – Smash Mouth (SeaWorld) “Hey now, you’re an All Star, get your game on…” if you lived through the 90’s you heard of Smash Mouth. We caught their show at Epcot in the fall and were impressed – not only did the songs translate even better live, the band put on a great show overall. Show starts at 4pm.
  • Saturday 2/14 – Gladys Knight (SeaWorld) The soul singer, known for her work with “Gladys Knight and the Pips” takes the stage at 4pm.
  • Sunday 2/14 – Barenaked Ladies (Universal Orlando) The Canadian rock band has quite a history with Universal having played almost yearly at the park for the Mardi Gras event for many years now – including their first show after they split with their second lead singer (Steven Page) a few years back. Expect the hits, the Big Bang Theory theme song, and lots of banter and made up on the spot comedy songs  – something the band’s live shows are known for. They take the stage at 8:30pm.
  • Monday 2/15 – Carly Rae Jepsen (The Plaza Live) You may know her from her huge hit single “Call Me Maybe” but she has gone on to build a fan base with her critically acclaimed 80’s style pop albums.
Recently Announced Shows

    • 4/29 – Beyonce (Raymond James Stadium – Tampa) Onsale Tuesday, Feb 16th
